COLLECTED CRAFTY COLLAB SUMMERTIME

SUMMER THEM
#collectedcraftycollabs
Hello Crafty Peeps,

This month our theme is Summer time with an optional choice of using an embossing folder.
Once again I need to give a shout out to Karen at Misplaced Mojo. Her and her squirrel sisters have done an amazing job. I can't begin to imagine how much time this takes them each month. Please make sure to stop by each person on the hop and leave comments. I know that they are greatly appreciated.

You should have come here from: Virginia

For my first card I used a technique called swinking. What is swinking you ask?. It is a technique I learned from Miss Laurel Beard. I will leave a link to her You tube channel below. It is a fun and easy technique almost anyone can do. Here is this picture below so you can see how mine turned out. This is just one variation of it.  I guess doing it this way is similar to ink smooshing . Here you can also see the Nuvo Shimmer powder I used for the gold  splatter.

Here  you can see the stamp set I used, by Pink and Main called Fiesta. I thought these drinks were perfect for the summer time theme. I water colored them using Distress Oxide Inks. The lemon slices are from a shaker bit mix from Trinity as well as the sentiment. That set is called Summertime Sentiments.

For this card I went with a swimming theme. I used Distress Oxide Inks to make the background for this one. I used an MFT stamp set along with an Avery Elle one. The die in the background is embossed with an old embossing folder. I'm sorry I no longer remember the name. I fussy cut out cute swimsuit she is wearing to match her beach ball. I used a stencil over the raft and masked her off to to that. The Seahorse is from the Avery Elle set and  is tucked one of the waves.

Handmade Plaid Backgournd

FUN BACKGROUND TECHNIQUE

This was such a fun background to make. It was so RELAXING to do. I had a great time doing this and will be doing a video soon on how to do it. My channel is Ink Paper Scissors Fun. I saw this technique on You Tube on Nancy's Channel. I would love for you to head on over and check out her channel. Please tell her that Lisa from Handmade Happiness sent you.

Mine was made with Oxide Inks. Most of you probably know that you can use your Oxide Inks to water color. I took the inks and put them on my desk and sprayed with water and painted . Check back later this week for pictures of that, so  you can see how I did it.

My new favorite colors are Fossilized Amber, Abandoned Coral and Peacock Feathers. I added white gesso for the white line as my white acrylic paint was missing. You can see that the picture below is  more muted as I took Vintage photo and lightly ink the panel.

This sweet coffee pot is from Darcie's heart and home stamps. It's called Mocha Me Crazy. I

Vintage photo and the water technique.
The link above will take you to a previous blog post here I show pictures of this. The process is the

same just a different stamp. I heat embossed this one and cut it on the Scan N Cut. I added brown

enamel dot and the sentiment But First Coffee.

I'm linking this card to the Addicted to Stamps and more blogs weekly challenge #391. I hope you

will head over and check them out.
